Certified Tutor

I have taught high school English and SAT prep for over ten years, and I have three years of experience teaching graduate level English methods courses to pre-service teachers. I have worked with students on many levels and with varying degrees of interests in writing, reading and test prep. I really enjoy helping students to develop English language skills and understand their unique learning styles. I am currently available to tutor literature, writing, reading, grammar and SAT prep. Based on the student’s needs, I will design my tutoring sessions to review academic concepts and teach new ones to fill gaps in the student’s knowledge base. I can also help students with test strategies and teach them approaches to different types of SAT questions, if testing is the focus. I have a BA in English Writing and an MS Ed in Secondary Education. I am certified to teach English Language Arts grades 7-12, and I have achieved National Board Certification.
