I am a graduate of the University of Detroit-Mercy. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an endorsement for Secondary Education in Speech and Literature focusing on reading comprehension. I am a former middle school Language Arts teacher as well as Operations Manager for a Supplemental Education Program which focused on literacy and the mechanics of proper writing techniques for essays, public speaking, and debates. I have tutored Language Arts for children in the grades of 6 through 9 who have wanted to improve their grammar and reading comprehension, as well as to improve standardized test scores. I have also performed in the capacity of the Facilitator of student academic enrichment, workshops, mentoring, social skills, and life skills. My most enjoyable experiences come from helping struggling students achieve their goals of better GPA's and better standardized test scores. I am very passionate in the belief that all children deserve the attention of a teacher or academic coach without judgement and an educational partner who is willing to go the extra mile for them to obtain the level of success they strive for. I work tirelessly to extend this philosophy to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going to live theater, chess, and board games such as scrabble and words with friends.
