Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a BA in English literature; Boston College with a MEd in Education/Gifted and Talented; and Fitchburg State College with an MS in Communications/Library Media. In college I tutored middle school in math and English, and in my 23 years with the Boston Public Schools, I spent 10 years as a high school librarian at Boston English High and then Boston Latin School. I worked with students to select topics and prepare research for term papers and projects. I believe each student has the potential to succeed and finding the key to unlock that potential is the goal of the tutor. I I don't lecture, I try to help students discover the solutions to problems and the answers to questions. The best part of my job was working one-on-one with my students, helping them find the resources to understand their tasks and complete their assignments. I enjoy tutoring in literature: American, British and World Literature - fiction, plays and poetry. In my own life I really enjoy reading, traveling, visiting museums and historical sites, being outdoors and spending time on Cape Cod and with my three dogs and two cats.
