I am a graduate from Banca Institute in Puerto Rico where I focused on an administration assistant degree. I have also successfully taken the ParaPro exam from Seminole County Public Schools, which measures reading, writing, and math skills. I have eleven years of experience working as a tutor and assistant at a Charter School. Throughout this time, I was responsible for assisting students in the subjects of math, reading, and science in the form of daily pull-out sessions. Additionally, I actively partook in the classroom by working alongside the teacher, adding to the classroom discussions and working with groups of struggling students during the class. I have extensive experience with preparing students for standardized tests and have seen significant gains in the students that I have tutored. I enjoy and feel confident tutoring science, reading, and math, but feel the most confident with reading and math and have the most experience in these areas. I have seen the momentous impact that working one-on-one can have on students in these subject areas and it is always satisfying sharing the “I got it” moment with students. Outside of the classroom, I revised and reorganized extracurricular programs such as the Safety Patrol Program and have learned throughout these experiences the importance of life outside of the classroom. I strive to not only help students with the academic areas that they may be struggling with, but to also be a mentor if necessary. In my spare time, I greatly enjoy gardening and seeing the produce after long days of hard work. I also find time to follow NASCAR races and cheer for my favorite drivers.
