I've always had a huge passion for theatre, but even some of my friends don't know that I also love math, art history, and writing! I earned my BA at Boston College and my MFA at The Boston Conservatory. My masters program was a dual performance and teaching degree which provided a pedagogical point of view and the opportunity to be a teaching assistant. I tutor several math subjects, including geometry, algebra I and II, and SAT math. Math has always been one of my favorite subjects to study and tutor because I enjoy the satisfaction of tackling a challenging puzzle. I would say that as a teacher, I like to guide my students and let them draw their own conclusions whenever possible. I want a student to leave a tutoring session feeling like they can rely on their own instincts and abilities when working on their own. My hobbies include swimming, theatre, singing, kayaking, reading, drawing, walking dogs, and watching too much Netflix. I know what it's like to struggle in school, but I also know the power of finding an appreciation for even the most dreaded subjects. I'd love to help your child articulate their goals, identify the strengths they already possess, and conquer those academic obstacles they're facing.

As a former Teach For America corps member and charter school teacher, my vision is to challenge students of all backgrounds to promote achievement. As a Latin teacher and scholar, I have experienced firsthand the benefits of a classical education. With my dedication to student empowerment and rigorous academic background, including graduating Summa Cum Laude from Columbia University and earning a fellowship to pursue my M.A. in Latin from the University of Michigan, I am ready to make a powerful impact on students outside of the classroom. While I specialize in tutoring Latin and Greek and am familiar with a variety of textbooks, I am also skilled at preparing students for the SAT and GRE--particularly the reading and writing portions. Although I clearly have a deep passion for my subject matter, I have an even greater passion for student achievement that drives me to work relentlessly to obtain results. Over the past five years, I have acquired essential skills and experiences while teaching in secondary schools as well as at the college level, so I know how to challenge students effectively while providing the support they need to succeed. When I'm not reading Latin, I enjoy cycling and cooking.I look forward to hearing from you and cannot wait to assist you in obtaining the most from your education!

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Chicago majoring in Classics and Theatre. However, my college uses the core curriculum and as a result, I've had a well-rounded, eclectic education covering everything from math to fine arts. I've won awards in community service, dance, and film, but most notably, 20 writing prizes before I reached eighteen. I was a National Merit Semi-Finalist in high school and I've had a passion for education and the art of learning since I was a child. I hope to instill in my students the love of amassing knowledge, excelling in your studies, and walking out of a test feeling like you rocked it. I especially had a passion for the Critical Reading and the Writing portions of the SAT's and the SAT 2 in Literature. I have teaching experience with everything from stand-up comedy to Emergency Medical Services to tap dancing, and I've been told that I am unmatched in my enthusiasm. In my free time, I like to perform sketch and improv comedy, dance, play the banjo, and volunteer in my local hospital.
