I have recently graduated from UCSD with a Human Biology major and a Human Development minor. After graduating, I traveled around Western European countries exploring new cultures and making unforgettable memories with my friends and family. I am currently applying to medical school, in hopes of pursuing a career in pediatrics. Along with medicine, I am very passionate about teaching biology, physiology, and chemistry, the very subjects that stirred me to pursue medicine. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for the past 1.5 years at UCSD, teaching lower division biology classes, including The Cell and Multicellular System. I have adapted a variety of teaching mechanisms that I use to help students with different learning styles. I have learned that using diagrams, pictures, or videos to explain a difficult topic helps students visualize the processes and gain a clearer understanding of the material. I am very open to new ideas and my goal is to target my teaching to each student based on his or her needs. I enjoy developing creative examples and applying the material I teach to our everyday lives, especially because biology and chemistry can be applied to everything we do. In my spare time I enjoy going to the beach, playing tennis, or simply watching the new Netflix show that just started.
