Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Moravian College, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, with a concentration in psychology. After college, I designed an Honors Neuroscience high school course, and taught both the class and the lab for one year. Several of my students have told me that my class was the class they learned the most in, and the class that challenged them to think critically, more so than their other classes during high school.

I also taught at a science camp for children K-8. When I teach, I tend to use various materials, including images, diagrams, videos and music. All of these help a student learn by integrating sensory modalities in ways that helps them remember, and more importantly, understand, study material. I focus on how the child learns best, and then go from there in how I approach the tutoring session.

My hobbies include writing full-length fantasy novels. I also maintain a blog where I post chapters from my novels, as well as post articles on neuroscience and psychology. I have also written a brain book for children ages 6-8 that is in the process of being illustrated, and hopefully, published.

I also enjoy hiking and biking, and meditation. I love learning languages, and currently am teaching myself both Hebrew and the computer programming language, Python. `
