Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. I later completed a master's degree from Illinois State University. My major was in Elementary Education; however, I also have a degree in Special Education. For more than 12 years I have worked with students of all age levels; ranging from elementary school age to high school age students. Building a solid foundation of basic skills is fundamental in moving forward in a student's academic life. My special education training has allowed me to develop curriculum to meet a student's individual learning style and build that foundation. Throughout my educational experience with students I have focused on basic skills; developing materials to tap into a child's individual learning style. I enjoy working with a wide range of reading skills, in any subject area, and basic math and algebra skills. To watch a student finally "get it" and gain the confidence to move forward is my goal for each individual I tutor.
