Certified Tutor

I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I am currently a graduate student in the Masters of Arts in Psychology program at California State University San Marcos, with a focus in Cognitive Psychology, and plan to continue my education to obtain a doctoral degree in Psychology. As both an undergraduate and graduate student, I have been a Teaching Assistant for various undergraduate psychology courses, including Cognitive Psychology, Biopsychology, Intro Psychology, Statistics, and Research Methods. As a Teaching Assistant, I have tutored students in one-on-one settings and in group settings, such as review sessions before exams.

As evidenced by my educational background and future goals, I have a passion for expanding my knowledge in psychology, as well as helping other students succeed. When I tutor, I try to make the subject as interesting and engaging as possible, relating as many topics to real-world or personal examples as I can. I like to break down hard-to-understand concepts to their basic elements to make it easier to grasp. I understand that every student learns in his or her own way and I make sure I tailor my lessons and explanations to suit that individual. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going to the beach, playing soccer, watching football (Go Seahawks!), or playing video games.
