As a private tutor and teaching assistant for many years, I’ve mastered the materials I teach. I have worked with many types of students and learned how to accommodate various learning types and goals. Subjects/tests in which I have expertise include all SAT and GRE sections, all middle/high school math, and a miscellany of social sciences.
My academic background includes undergraduate degrees in International Relations and Psychology and an MS in Statistics. Currently, I’m getting my Statistics PhD; as a student, I continually appreciate how important student-teacher feedback is in enhancing the learning process. I incorporate this into my teaching by regularly checking my students' comprehension levels and crafting custom materials to address their particular weaknesses.
I try to make the learning process disciplined yet collaborative, so the student feels like he/she is not merely an information receptacle. In this way, thinking and learning skills develop along with knowledge of content. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed helping students succeed in the past and look forward to engendering more understanding, competency, and success.
