We began by reviewing previous units. The student had a basic understanding, and just needed a reminder of the formulas. I re-introduced all the formulas concerning series/sequences, vectors, and trig to her. I then went over a couple of examples with her in each category, to show her the proper application of said formulas. Once she felt comfortable using them, I had her do some practice problems on her own. For the most part, she was able to answer them correctly with little assistance. I sent her copies of all the formulas we reviewed in the session.

We went through a review of laws of exponents and square root. He solved problems that seemed hard, so this session was quite a success!!

The student finished her practice test for the SSAT today. She did incredibly well on her reading portion of the exam, but struggled with analogies in the verbal portion of the exam. We went over the relationships between words for the analogies, as well as the synonyms she got incorrect. We finished the lesson by reviewing math problems as well. She has to review vocabulary and take a practice test this week to finish reviewing before the test she takes on Saturday. Scores: 32/40 reading comprehension, 41/60 verbal reasoning.

The student and I started off by discussing the topic of diseases. Then, we reviewed idioms that use the word "on" by going over several examples where she filled in the correct "on" expression. We ended our session with talking about whether people can predict the future in anticipation of reading the article "Trend Forecasters Predict Future."

Today we met for the first time and went over a number of calc II review problems. We were pretty solid with the integration problems, but series and power series will need some work. This is a very difficult topic for most students, but I'm sure we'll be able to get through it efficiently. Thanks!
