Today we covered the concept of the slope - intercept form of the line. The student has learned how to write the equation of the line (y=mx+b): 1- for a line on a graph 2- for two points on a line. She also learned how to draw the graph for a line given in the slope intercept form.

We covered transformations of functions, their graphs, and worked through several new types of geometry problems, and the student is excited about what he is learning.

The student and I continued to progress through his online schooling. In his trigonometry class we reviewed for an upcoming test covering the unit circle. We then moved into his physics course where we learned and practiced two step kinematic motion problems. He did very well with the new material.

The student sent me his edits per our previous conversation on the direction of his paper. The paper already looks so much more streamlined and focused than it was previously. His strengths are the sheer volume of information on the subject. I can tell through his writing that he has a lot to say. We are still working on structure.

Today we covered new topics: signed rationals, and multiplication by a conjugate to rationalize denominators in expressions. That is, remove radicals from the denominator. We reviewed special triangles, ratios, simplification of products of powers and radicals, molecular weight problems, chemical mixture problems, simplification of radical expressions, solving quadratic equations via completing the square. The student is well versed in all the new and old topics, and is making fast progress.
