Today math was a review in preparation for the Friday sig test. We reviewed strategies to get the student to pass the sig test competencies he's not passed to date. In History, his teacher gave the class extra work on the same chapters he had homework on within the past week. This gave him a chance to study the rise and fall of Napoleon Bonaparte more than usual, and we were also able to go over multiple choice testing strategies. He did very well remembering significant points brought up in his history book.

A quadratic function has a degree of 2, meaning that it contains a square function. Instead of a line, a quadratic function creates a parabola. We reviewed some basic characteristics and properties of graphing a quadratic function.

We had to review working with double negatives, and he was able to grasp the concept and solve the problems. I also helped him revise his rough draft for his essay that is due next week.

She had a few clarifying questions, but after we took care of those, she had this concept down. We then started game planning for improving her grades going into the end of the semester.
