Born and raised in Chicago, I attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for my undergraduate. I completed my education at UIC with a degree in Kinesiology. Then I continued on to a master's program at Midwestern University in Arizona and completed my masters in 2017. I have recently gotten accepted into a medical school and will be starting this upcoming year. Throughout both undergrad and graduate school, I have been involved in tutoring and helping fellow classmates out. I enjoy tutoring biochemistry, biology, and anatomy. These are my favorite subjects.
I am currently available to tutor in any of the sciences: general chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, nutrition, and study skills and organization. Being able to take complicated concepts and to simplify them for students is what I like to do the best. I have been able to come up with mnemonics that can help students become more comfortable with the information that has been given to them. Instead of having a focus on just memorizing the concepts I teach in a way that would help students understand what is going on.
My teaching philosophy is one that would benefit a wide variety of students with different backgrounds. I take an approach of making complicated concepts easier for students to understand and not only memorize but have a better understanding of what's going on. Being able to take ideas that one may think are pointless and being able to apply them to our biological process or even to the real world help students have a better understanding of everything.
