Hello! I am a current student at Columbia University, majoring in Computer Sciences. I really enjoy helping other students learn, and I believe that a strong foundation is necessary for any progression to higher education. Without fundamentals, student have a difficult time following class or lectures. I can't tell you how often I am in group-study sessions or helping a friend one-on-one and the only real problem absorbing the material is because their baseline knowledge was not as strong as it should have been. I have a lot of experience with teaching and tutoring in math and science. I also am well versed with SAT prep in test-taking strategies and time management on the test, as well as creating a plan leading up to the test.
Before studying at Columbia, I was a Nuclear Electrician in the Navy for six years. My experience taught me the value of patience, determination and sacrifice. It also taught me that with time and hard work, one can achieve incredible things.
