Tutoring review by Liban in Dobbs Ferry, NY
We continued with regression and correlation. The student already had a solid understanding of the concepts due to our last session, but had trouble wiring with spas. I showed him some tricks to discovering confidence intervals on spas. He also needed a little clarification on the difference between correlation and causation. The student felt really confident about the material after the session.

Tutoring review by Moses in Dobbs Ferry, NY
We first reviewed the homework I gave her as well as those given to her in school then we went on to learn a new topic in algebra II (completing of square). She has the ability to make an equation the subject of a variable (change of subject). She was ready to understand how the concept worked and was able to understand and did the homework herself. I taught her the concept of how to make a variable the subject of an equation when it is adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying or a combination of any of the orders of operation in mathematics. I noticed improvement in her knowledge of math over the course of the session. I left her with extra practice.

Tutoring review by Allison in Dobbs Ferry, NY
In an attempt to parallel what she is learning in class, we covered the following: solving multi step word problems, applying the four operations to solve decimal problems, adding and subtracting rational numbers and recalling the rules for multiplying and dividing rational numbers. Overall, the student does seem to really understand the material. I see some questions with rules regarding multiplying/ dividing negatives and multiplying and dividing fractions. I may give her a little work in this area. She is likely practicing the same things in her regular homework. Again, once I am able to see the syllabus and textbook, I feel I will be able to do a better job of reinforcing concepts learned in school. She is a delight! I enjoy working with her.

Tutoring review by Traci in Dobbs Ferry, NY
We focused on shoring up vocabulary today. We used the online tools to pinpoint unfamiliar words that may be on the test and then made flashcards with pictures to help her remember the meanings. She did good work.
