I am an Atlanta native. I hold an undergraduate degree in Business from Tennessee State University and graduated degree in Education from Cambridge College. I am a Georgia and Texas certified teacher. I have always enjoyed working with kids. I have taught kindergarten, first, second and fourth grade. I am a hard-worker, team player and passionate about my students succeeding in whatever they set their minds too. I currently hold endorsements in K-5 Mathematics, Teacher Support Specialist, and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). I am able to provide instruction that meets the needs of all students. I have the ability to differentiate instruction so that I cater to all learning styles and levels.

My Philosophy of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment comes from each other; and following what Wald and Castleberry (2002) provided in several great suggestions related to learning from each other when it comes to teacher improvement, learning, leadership, moral, school culture, student/faculty learning and life in general. The authors shared the following when it comes to assessment and learning that I also practice:1. Understanding yourself. As learners we have to understand ourselves by knowing who we are, what we believe in, and how we are willing to share what we have learned. We all see and react to things differently; that is important to see and listen to other's viewpoints.2. Understanding others' beliefs and assumptions. We all have various beliefs and assumptions with expressed opinions that can be either influenced by others or just learned from experiences. We should be interested in knowing what others are talented in, what they have trouble with, how they can help another individual overcome an obstacle, what traits or similarities and differences they can bring to the unity for the team.3. Communicating together in a trusting atmosphere. We should be able to listen to others carefully when one shares meaningful information without interrupting their thoughts or sharing your own personal views until they finish. We should respect each other's comments, be honest to giving your own suggestions if asked, be able to determine meaning of their conversation by rephrasing/repeating what they have ideas especially if the atmosphere is warm, pleasant and trustworthy, and should explain the reasons for doing certain things in detailed to avoid any relationship.4. Making decisions together as a whole/consensus. We should be able to be straightforward with each other when making decision as a team. We should have a tally as to how many agree or disagree to certain issues and reasons to support decisions5. Establishing ground rules and roles. When we come together as a team we should have set times to begin and end, we should stay focused on the discussion at hand, we should avoid any unnecessary interruption, we should allow all members to voice their opinion, we should save any negative judgments, we should support each other's suggestions and not knock them down, we should not make meetings long and drawn out, we should have established roles for each facilitator's recording kept.6. Allowing time to reflect. As a team the group should reflect back on the rules, goal, vision, and ideas that have been set to improve learning for all. See what has been accomplished, and what else needs improvement/change on a continuous bases for learning, for growth, and an avoidance of becoming complacent.

As an educator with a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Loyola University New Orleans and a master's degree in strategic leadership from Tennessee State University, I have over five years of experience teaching public speaking. My approach centers on creating a supportive environment where students feel empowered to express who they really are so that they can develop their public speaking and communication skills while increasing their self-confidence. Effective communication is a vital life skill. I strive to connect with each student individually, tailoring my methods to suit their unique learning styles. Outside of helping students on Varsity Tutors, I am a professional public speaking coach, ethical leadership speaker, college instructor, award-winning broadcaster, and communications strategist. I also enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, making people laugh, and reading.

I believe that ALL students are destined to succeed in education in their own way and their own terms. Sometimes it just takes others longer to grasp the information being taught to them and that is okay! I was one of those students and now I make it my mission to help those students that struggle the way I did academically. I succeeded and I know they will to!

Having earned my B.A. in English from Rhodes College followed by my Masters in Education from Tennessee State University, I have been propelling students learning success for over 35 years as a public-school English teacher. My students' growth and achievement scores are consistently significantly above average. I have training in both AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition. I enjoy teaching students writing and test prep, but more than anything I love my students' expressions when they see their improvement.

I am a graduate of Augustana College with a Bachelor of Arts in Geology and Environmental Studies with a minor in Mathematics. While at my undergrad, I often worked with elementary and middle school students, teaching basic science concepts and attempting to inspire and interest in all types of science and learning. I achieved my Master of Science degree in Geosciences with a concentration in Paleontology from East Tennessee State University. My research focused on Ice Age mammoth dynamics and paleobiological patterns. After my Master's I worked with the National Park Service in Alaska backpacking across remote national parks including Katmai, Bering Land Bridge, and Kobuk Valley completing field work and reports for the park service. I tutor a wide variety of subjects and am most passionate about natural sciences, math, and ArcGIS. I've always enjoyed prepping for standardized tests (ACT, GRE) and hope to help all my students reach score beyond their targets. I believe there is no single correct way to go about learning and I strive to uncover the methods that work best for each student. I enjoy teaching students of all ages, and my methods are tailored to the age and level of each student. Outside of academia, I love photography, playing basketball, and watching movies/TV shows (big Marvel fan).

I am a graduate of Tennessee State University where I received my Bachelors of Arts in English and Central Michigan University where I received my Masters of Arts in Educational Instruction. I have spent the last 22 years teaching middle and high school students the beauty the of English Language, Literature and Writing. I am passionate about helping young people become excellent Readers and Writers. I am most proud of my outstanding ability to grow the proficiency of my students and prepare them for success on standardized assessments. I love watching them transform into confident scholars. I come from a long line of educators. My mother, father, sister, uncles, cousins and husband are all teachers and school administrators. It is definitely our "family business". In my spare time, I love reading, writing short stories and spending time with my family.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology located in Atlanta, GA. I went on to pursuing a Master of Science in Biology from Tennessee State University located in Nashville, TN. I love teaching students taking both biology and biochemistry. I would love to share my knowledge, provide insightful connections and peak his or her interest in the subject matter. I worked as a graduate teaching assistant for two years. It is amazing to witness when a student who is struggling starts to understand the topic and then begins to build upon that understanding. I hope to bring my education and experience into my work as tutor on this platform!

I am a Math faculty member at Texas A&M University. I earned two bachelor degrees in Mathematics and in Environmental Studies, I earned a Master degree in Mathematics, an Education Specialist degree and my doctoral degree in education (ABD). I have been teaching Mathematics courses for more than 15 years at Tennessee State University and now at A&M University. Also I tutored Mathematics to 3rd 12th grade students through private group or one-to-one sessions. Beside my Math knowledge, I also taught several adults and kids the Arabic Language. I have an excellent professional teaching style to fit any students needs and level. From my long experience I have dealt with at risk students and helped them enrich their knowledge about subject materials then reach their goals of success. In my perspective I think education is a very important stage in our lives, which will open lots of opportunities for us and our kids to leading us and them to bright future.
