Practicing math on your own can feel like banging your head against a wall, especially when every example seems to skip the exact step you're stuck on. I help students make math feel less frustrating and more manageable. With years of tutoring experience, I've learned how to explain difficult concepts in a clear, direct, and practical way. My sessions focus on understanding the reasoning behind each problem, not just memorizing steps. We start with what you're currently working on, figure out where things are breaking down, walk through targeted examples, and then have you practice applying the method on your own.

I graduated in 2021 from Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Spanish. Prior to that, I studied Math at Western Connecticticut State University before switching majors. After graduating, I moved to my favorite city in the world, New York, to try new things.I received a TEFL certification from the International TEFL academy after taking their 170-hour course in 2021. I currently am working as an ESL instructor at Manhattan College's Intensive English Program in New York City. I previously taught ELA and Math at the Huntington Learning Center in Brooklyn. The 3 subjects I would like to teach are ESL, Spanish, and Math. The latter 2 are subjects that students struggle with immensley in school, and I was one of them until I developed better study habits. While I study languages for professional reasons, it is also a hobby that I do for fun. My other hobbies are watching baseball, playing, writing, and listening to music, going to the gym, and playing video games.
Hello! I moved to Colorado from Connecticut approximately 3 years ago. I have a Bachelors degree in both Psychology and Elementary Education, as well as a Masters degree in Reading. I have obtained the "Highly Qualified" educator status, based on my exemplary PRAXIS scores. In addition, I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 15 years, having taught 2nd grade for 13 years and 3rd grade for 2 years. I elected to not continue my classroom position in order to support my father during a challenging year of medical procedures. I have worked with children of all ages and backgrounds since I was a child myself. I bond with children quickly and easily and have learned numerous behavioral and academic strategies to cater to specific individual needs. I look forward to the opportunity to work with students once again.
I have over 20 years of experience in teaching and tutoring students of all ages. After earning my Bachelor's of Science in Spanish and ESL, I went on to teach in the public school system. While teaching 4th, and then 3rd grade bilingual students, I earned my Masters of Science in Reading Education. In 2009, I decided to put my professional career on hold in order to raise my children. As my children reached school-age I made the decision to home-educate them. I have been teaching my own children for 10 years now and currently teach all subjects at the 5th and 8th grade levels. While homeschooling my children, I continue to tutor other students as well. Throughout this time I have been tutoring students in everything from sewing and crafting to learning to read to editing college essays. I am a passionate teacher who loves what I do! It is my joy to walk beside students as they grow and walk through their educational journey.
