Not only do I speak Spanish fluently, but I have also studied the language in a great deal of depth and can help with everything from grammar and conjugation to reading and speaking. I am enchanted with languages, and believe that it is very important to know more than one language, whether it be for travel, business relations, or school-related purposes. I've been in the field of education for fifteen years. In that time I've worked with students from all walks of life, and from all over the world. I've taught/tutored on a wide range of subjects, including SAT/ACT/GED/AP/SSAT Prep. In addition, I have taught college Composition, AP English Language and Composition, Creative Writing, grammar, and reading.My main purpose in becoming a tutor is help students achieve their goals, both academic and otherwise.

I love learning, teaching and interacting with people about the subject matter that I am very passionate about. I do not believe that any subject is superior to another, and that together they form the basis of a well-rounded, informed individual. With regard to my particular areas of expertise, History, Social and Political Sciences, I feel that these areas all interact, and react, to each other and form an essential part of our human story; the story of us if you will.

I have my BA in English and Psychology from Rhode Island College, and I am a certified English teacher for both middle and high school students. I have years of experience in mentoring and tutoring students from a variety of different backgrounds. From volunteering my time tutoring immigrants in Providence working towards United States citizenship, to fine-tuning essays with gifted students seeking enrollment in prestigious science fairs, I'm reminded of the unique qualities that people have to offer every day. While my favorite subjects to tutor are Literature and Writing, I find that any topic that I can help a student progress in is something to be excited about! Both in and out of the classroom I aim to arm my students with the means to find and articulate their own answers while also maintaining a strong knowledge base. In my spare time I enjoy playing music with my two younger brothers, playing or watching football, and otherwise seeking to improve myself.

I am currently working as a Special Education Teacher in Fall River, Massachusetts. All in all I have about 6 years of teaching experience and I try really hard to make learning interesting and applicable to my students, no matter the subject. In my free time, I love spending time with my yellow lab, Gibson and taking him on hikes. I also really enjoy watching New England sports teams and spending time with my family.

I received a BA in Psychology from Rhode Island College and a Master of Education degree from Cambridge College in Massachusetts. My experience with students includes internationally teaching english and health as a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand, to helping US high school students prepare for the world of work. As an adjunct professor at a Community College, I taught many subjects including writing, critical thinking, psychology and study skills strategies. I greatly enjoy recognizing the potential in students and helping them strengthen their academic skills. I tutor reading, study skills, writing and composition. I believe life-long learning is necessary for an enriched and fulfilled journey. I facilitate creative and critical thinking during the process of learning.

I graduated from Rhode Island College at the age of 35. Most of education after high school was done at night while supporting my wife and two children. I worked twenty-five years in the metal finishing industry also called plating. I still work part-time in this field within a laboratory environment. My passion is to teach chemistry to who every the student may be. Such as struggling in the subject, since I did in high school and had to work very hard in achieving my bachelor's degree in chemistry. I also look forward to working with students who need more help to advance in chemistry. I have a strong background in laboratory skills such as titration, spectrophotometry, as well as using other equipment. Within my teaching career I also was a physical science teacher.

I have a teaching certificate that allows me to teach French and Spanish at all levels. I am currently studying to be certified in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have 25 years of experience teaching in middle school; high school; elementary and college. I taught Spanish to professionals at Miami Dade College; English to professional adults at Florida Computer College, and French at Mississippi State University. I was the Department Head of Foreign Languages at a Division-1 High School, where I received National Awards for education. I was a full time teacher at the French Immersion Program and taught High School Spanish for Spanish speakers.Opera, ballet, classical music, humanities and art are my favorite interests.I am a born educator and I love to see my students succeed!

I have successfully taught elementary level children and ESL students for 21 years. I am certified in grades 1-6 with experience with Pre-K through high school. My subjects of tutoring are Elementary Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Grammar. My major is English and, therefore, I can tutor in the area of Literature, Grammar, and Writing. Having been a student myself for many years, I recall loving learning, but hating feeling unsuccessful. After studying and graduating with a B.S. in Elementary and Special Education, I am now on the other side of things, with a great realization of just how much is being asked of students. With high-stakes testing, high standards of expectations, and sometimes large class sizes, it's no wonder some students find themselves missing bits and pieces of information that they need to do their best.As a teacher in the classroom, I'm dedicated to helping my students grow in their abilities, whatever it takes. Sometimes it isn't just about how I teach a concept to students-- it's about how I teach that one concept to that one student in particular. I find such an importance in individualizing instruction so that it is easy to understand and specific to student needs, and as a tutor, I hope to do the same.

I am currently a Kindergarten teacher in an inclusion classroom. I have been teaching for 3 years in a public school district. I hold a M.E.D. in Early Childhood Special Education and B.S. in Early Childhood Education. I have experience working with a wide range of learners. I feel that using student's interests can really bring learning to life. Students are much more engaged when they are interested in what they are learning. Outside of the classroom; I love to dance (tap, ballet, jazz), watch New England Sports, go to concerts, and explore new places! I am a graduate of Florida State University and Rhode Island College. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. Since graduation, I have worked with students from Kindergarten to fourth grade and Multi-lingual Learners of various language profiency levels. I'm a current graduate student working towards my master's in Biology. I graduated with my BS in Biology from New England College in Henniker NH in 2020. In 2019 I graduate from CCRI with my AA in general studies. When I was in high school I was a peer tutor for biology classes and currently I and a teaching assistant. I obtained my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of Connecticut (UConn) and I now work as a Lecturer for the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, School of Mathematics. For the last 2 years I have been homeschooling my middle school aged daughter and as an instructor I have learned a lot from working with her. My previous teaching experience includes teaching History of Arts at the Childrens School of Arts in Kharkov, Ukraine. (My first BA from Ukraine is in theater journalism). I have always loved to learn and teach, and was successful at both. I strongly believe in the value of education. I am an avid reader and a big admirer of the British show Doctor Who. All my life I have loved dogs, I kept many of them and presently I am enjoying the company of my golden retriever called Oromis.

Do you remember that teacher from when you were in school? Not A teacher. THAT teacher. The one that stayed late after class to tutor you. The one that gave you the confidence to push yourself further and to work harder. The one you would want to see one more time so you can tell them what a difference they made. What was their name? For me his name was Mr. Walker, and I know that I would not be where I am today is it was not for him. I did not get into this profession to be a teacher. I was called to this profession to be THAT teacher.The funny thing about being THAT teacher, though, is that they are never just a teacher. Often, they take on whatever roles they need to in order to make a difference. So, although I have only been at this for half a decade, I have always attempted not just to be the best teacher but to be the best curriculum coordinator, data analyst, or counselor I can be. When my school switched to Common Core Standards I volunteered to make sure these standards were implemented in a way that built off of the curriculum we already had in place. When thirty-four of our students were not going to graduate because of their NECAP score, I analyzed every piece of data available to best identify the gaps those students had. And after my administration met with these students and their parents I created and taught a summer camp to address these gaps.I hope you will give me the opportunity to be THAT teacher for you. I LOVE BIOLOGY. Joking aside I am currently finishing up my masters degree in biology (MBS) from Drexel University and this work is following a bachelors degree in biological sciences (BS) from Rhode Island College. I also and applying to medical schools for the class of 2021 and have experience with both the old and new MCAT and the application cycle so I encourage students if they have questions to ask away. My hobbies include sports, travel, and movies.

I have enjoyed tutoring math since I was sixteen years old and have never looked back. I have tutored the subjects Pre-Algebra Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, as well as the standardized tests PSAT Math, SAT Math, ACT Math, and GRE Quantitative Reasoning. I specialize in one on one settings, where I can get to know students and establish a connection with them. With that connection, I find it much easier to carefully explain concepts in multiple ways to ensure they understand the material. When I am driving to a tutoring session, I do not feel like I am going to work. I feel good knowing that I am doing something that I love to do. Tutoring math online is a personal favorite.

I was an Authorized Apple technician for many years and a very early adopter of the iPhone. I am also well versed in Windows and Adobe software such as Photoshop. I have worked with high school students preparing portfolios for art school submission, first year college students in foundation courses, college seniors working in their major studio concentrations, and graduate students completing their thesis work.
