I tell my students all the time "once you know better, you do better" and "you can't unlearn what you do know". I believe that the more we understand, the more capable we become in navigating life and learning with resilience and confidence. With over a decade of experience in healthcare and as a mom of five, I've had the opportunity to support both children and adult learners across a range of ages and backgrounds. I've found that identifying a student's learning style early on makes it easier to customize a tutoring approach that truly works. I earned my nursing degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville in 2010 and also a Google Data Analytics Certificate holder, as well as an Accredited Financial Counselor Candidate. I tutor a variety of subjects including elementary-level math, reading and comprehension, science, study skills, financial literacy, and nursing fundamentals such as documentation. While I enjoy all the subjects I teach, my favorite part of tutoring is witnessing that "aha" moment when everything clicks for a learner and they finally say, "I get it now!" Once you get it, you got it and that breakthrough is always rewarding. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and confidence-building. I believe by uncovering the best methods that work for each learner's learning style and adapting those in a safe space, I meet learners where they are and support them as they work toward where they want to be.

Outside of academics, I enjoy spending time with my family, making memories through travel, and tackling DIY projects—especially when it involves a trip to the Depot!
