About Me

I have spent my professional career in engineering, working in such varied domains as systems engineering, electro-optics, and flash memory. A PhD in physics from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's degree in optical sciences from the University of Arizona prepared me well for this field. Outside of my professional career, I have always had a passion for education. While in college and graduate school, I taught courses in algebra and laboratory physics. After I graduated, I continued in education with outreach activities. I went to middle schools and high schools with fun hands-on demos and mentored clubs like the Rocket Team, which built and entered a rocket in a national competition. I am currently a tutor in Austin ISD schools. My goal is not just education, but making math and science fun and accessible to everyone.
