I also held the position of tutor with NCSU's Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes from 2019 to 2020. The challenges of tutoring so many students with such a wide range of interests, abilities, and motivations led me to focus on imparting critical thinking skills as a vital aspect of learning. I recently completed my MA program at UNC at Chapel Hill in Middle East Studies where I also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research consultant. I tailor my lesson plans to meet the individual student's needs with the overall objective of teaching my students to think deeply and critically. My goal is to help the students with whom I work to discover their own learning styles and to develop the study habits that work for them. I understand the struggles and difficulty of tackling subjects with which we are unfamiliar or (let's be honest) not really interested. I encourage all my students to view our sessions as a safe space where they may feel free to be completely honest with me about their learning preferences.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling, reading, video games, comics/manga, and Muay Thai and boxing (hoping to begin Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes soon!).
