Hi there! My name is Joelle Santiago. I am an accomplished academic, artist, and ardent learner. I hold a B.A. from Barnard College of Columbia University, Cum Laude. I have extensive experience in advanced literary analysis, writing and critical social theory. My writing has been praised by field leaders as "immensely curious", and "brilliant".I love learning from and laughing with the students that I work with. It continues to be a tremendous pleasure to witness and partake in the discovery-making of others. During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic I launched (and taught within) a volunteer tutoring system to assist NYC school families struggling to adjust to the crisis. I also regularly teach dance to ages K-12. My teaching philosophy centers respect for her students, goal setting, and unites fun and rigor. I am excited to help K-undergraduate students develop their writing, reading, and critical thinking skills.
