About Me

I am a Flint, MI native who holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia State University (GSU), a Master of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor (UMICH), a Master of Science in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), and am working on my PhD in Anatomy Education at The Ohio State University (OSU).I have been involved in teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students at both the post-secondary (primarily) and secondary levels for 8-years. While at GSU, I taught Anatomy and Physiology I and II (A&P) labs, I tutored for the TRIO Program (Biology I and II, Anatomy I and II, Advanced Human Physiology, and Biochemistry). Additionally, I served as a supplemental instructor for Principles of Biology I and II, Principles of Chemistry I and II, and Anatomy and Physiology I and II. I also participated in teaching Anatomy and Biology to high school students on the UM-Flint campus during my time at UMICH. While at CWRU, I served as a Full-Time Biology Lecturer at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) teaching A&P and Introduction to Biological Chemistry. Following my time at Tri-C, I served as a Founding Teacher for the newest KIPP DC school Somerset College Prep teaching Statistics, Algebra II, and AP Biology. My experiences have made me a master of learning and my goal is to share the tools of masterful learning with students in hope that they will become more efficient learners, and better advocates for themselves in classrooms at every level.
