I never understood the Spanish she spoke, but I loved hearing it and have very fond memories of it from my childhood. Fast forward to me at 19-years-old, I chose to serve a 2-year full-time volunteer mission for my church. I had no choice in where they would send me, so I was very grateful when they assigned me to serve in Chile. Those 2 years in Chile gave me an immense love for the Spanish language and a desire to continue using it for the rest of my life. As I returned from my 2-year mission, I decided to apply for a Minor Degree in Spanish at Brigham Young University. There, I qualified to take an advanced-level Spanish-speaking test to waive 16 credits worth of Spanish courses and accelerate my formal Spanish education. I passed the test with an A and continued the rest of my collegiate study taking advanced level Spanish courses. While in the first two years of my college, I also worked as a Spanish teacher in a Training Center that taught young missionaries who were just starting their 2-year service missions for my church. That job engulfed me in the Spanish language daily and encouraged me to improve my Spanish-speaking abilities. Today, I continue to speak the Spanish language frequently after having learned it 8 years ago. I hold a Spanish Minor from Brigham Young University, and I want to continue sharing the benefits of learning the Spanish language with others around me. If you choose me to be your tutor, I will give you my best efforts to teach you all you need to know to excel in your classes. You will learn more than just the curriculum needed for a good grade. Well engage in effective practice sessions, learn clever ways to grasp the language, and have fun while doing it! I love Spanish, and I know you will too after working with me!
