10+ years of tutoring
Tiffany
- I am currently working toward earning my undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
- I love tutoring math because it is the subject that everyone loves to hate.
About Me
I have excelled in many math and computer science courses, programmed for my college robotics team and taught 4 and 5th graders programming concepts in addition to tutoring friends and family in my free time. I am currently focusing most of my efforts on tutoring all levels of mathematics from pre-algebra to differential equations and linear algebra. I am also available to tutor beginning programming concepts and assist with preparing for the AP Calculus AB/BC and Computer Science A exams. Many math courses fail to answer the age-old question: Why do I need to know this? and succeed in killing students curiosity before they ever have an opportunity to develop the mathematical maturity to be creative! My primary responsibilities as a tutor are to 1) Understand my students current study strategies and what topic they are currently struggling with, 2) Help students understand why they are struggling with a topic and how to identify any other study problems they may be having and 3)give the student the pre-requisite knowledge and resources to fix their current problem and develop learning strategies that can help them for years to come. Even if a student leaves my sessions believing that math is useless, they will still develop a value of discipline and learn to understand how their current study habits may be holding them back from success.
Hobbies & Interests
My hobbies include learning about artificial intelligence, drawing, sewing, and long distance running. My favorite TV show is currently Once Upon a Time and I am a big fan of the Marvel cinematic universe.
