I recently retired from the Los Angeles Unified School District after a 30 year career in which I worked as a teacher, counselor and school principal. (I am a youthful 55 years old.) I have a Bachelors degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley, a Masters degree in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California, as well as California credentials in teaching, school counseling and school administration. My interest in tutoring is to help students reach their goals as expediently as possible while making the tutoring sessions an enjoyable experience for the student. I use humor whenever possible. My interests outside of tutoring include daily exercise and writing. I am currently taking a course in playwriting.

I attempt to establish a positive rapport with the student as quickly as possible in which the student feels understood, accepted and liked. If the student is comfortable with the tutor, the focus can be entirely on the subject matter. I use humor whenever possible. My interests outside of tutoring include daily exercise and writing. I am currently taking a course in playwriting.
