About Me

I am a dedicated tutor with flexible hours. I received my undergraduate education at Eckerd College, where I received a BA in literature and creative writing, and I am currently enrolled in Emerson’s creative writing MFA. I have experience teaching in classrooms from my two years working with AmeriCorps, where I taught 7th grade language arts. I am offering tutoring, for all grade levels, in grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, literature, essay composition. I am also offering tutoring in ACT reading and GRE verbal prep. My overall favorite subject to teach is reading and literature. I feel it is one of the subjects that offers something for everyone. Improving a student’s reading comprehension, as well as finding literature that appeals to them, does more then anything else to instill a positive attitude toward education. Some of my other interests are writing poetry, chess, cooking and baking.
