About Me

I am a graduate of Hofstra University and received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in English/ Language Arts. Over the course of my career I have been certified in the states of New York, Connecticut, and Washington. While my knowledge, experience, and passions are vast, my areas of expertise are composition/ essay skills, literature/ reading comprehension, persuasive techniques in argumentation, grammar skills, and vocabulary acquisition. I have been told that I do a great job maintaining standards in spite of deficiencies in student skill level and have proven success in bringing students up to those standards and beyond. A good sense of humor and a creative personality develop a positive rapport and learning environment. I also have an extensive background as an actor and enjoy hiking, bird-watching, traveling, classic rock and roll, and can play a few simple songs on the guitar.
