About Me
I hold both a B.S. and an M.S. in chemistry. I've taught General, Organic, and Advanced Organic Chemistry Laboratory in addition to being a TA for Organic Chemistry lectures. As a Varsity Tutor, I tutor high school chemistry (general, honors, and AP), test prep (Regents, SAT Subject Test in Chemistry, GRE Chemistry), General Chemistry lecture, Organic Chemistry Lecture, and Inorganic Chemistry lecture. My tutoring style is student-centered. I believe it is my job to provide students with the tools to solve chemical problems, not to solve problems for them. The most common problem I've encountered in learning Chemistry is application. An individual can understand Geometry because they can build a fence. You can understand Physics because you can calculate how fast a baseball is thrown. But how do you understand problems on a molecular scale? I've successfully battled this obstacle since I was a sophomore in college and I look forward to continuing to succeed with my students. Outside of being a tutor, I love all things soccer. I have played since high school and keep active with my company's team. I can play any position, but I'm a trained goalkeeper. Additionally, I love watching soccer. I'm an avid Liverpool fan and I am looking forward to the 2014-2015 season!
