About Me

Texas has been my home for twenty-five years. I was born in Lexington, Kentucky, but moved to Round Rock, Texas after serving in the U.S. Navy. I hold a teaching certificate in Texas and Kentucky and have over ten years of experience teaching Spanish and French in both states. I hold a Ph.D. in Spanish and a B.A. in French and Spanish. Learning a language involves many skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Sometimes, grammar may be a stumbling block. Sometimes, it's reading comprehension. Or a student may need extra practice to prepare for AP exams I tailor tutoring sessions to fit the skill level of each student. In addition to Spanish and French, I tutor in Writing, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics. I am multi-published (young adult novels, short stories, biographies, and translations). Over the years, I have coached many new writers, both adults and young adults. In my free time (when I'm not writing), I like to swim, read, and play backgammon. I have three grown children, two cats, and two dogs.
