I am a licensed physician from Florida who is currently changing careers. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and have extensive tutoring and editing experience. While a student, I became a certified writing tutor through the Critical Writing Department. Since I completed my writing requirement at the University prior to matriculating, I was the first freshman tutor to be accepted into this selective program. The tutoring program involved a preliminary peer-tutor training course prior to beginning tutoring, in order to certify that I had the appropriate background to provide professional feedback to fellow students on their literary works and projects. After graduation, I worked for a full-service learning center where I created and implemented high school lesson plans for home-schooled students, provided academic support for students ranging in ages from 8 to 20 years old, and taught group and individual standardized testing preparation classes. I have also assisted students with application essays for various undergraduate and graduate programs.

I'm passionate about guiding high schoolers through the college application process. The admissions process is probably one of the most confusing, anxiety-inducing experiences you'll have in high school, but I'm full of ideas for making the entire process as successful and stress-free as possible. I've successfully guided many students through every stage of admissions -- from figuring out where to apply and then staying organized and on-track, to "packaging" themselves and producing a perfect personal statement -- and I love witnessing them achieve their admissions dreams.

I am a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Psychology and am currently pursuing a Master's degree at the University of South Florida in Educational Measurement and Research. I have tutored in one form or another intermittently since high school, from private tutoring in Chemistry, Algebra, Statistics, and SAT prep to T.A. responsibilities and instructor training for undergraduate statistics as part of my graduate studies.

I am a graduate of The State University of New York at New Paltz and am currently working towards my masters at Southeastern University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics and I am obtaining my Master's in Educational Leadership. Throughout the years I have worked in the classroom as an elementary teacher and then obtained my certification in Middle School Mathematics which allowed me to work in my current profession as a middle school mathematics teacher. I have also been tutoring for over 10 years and I specialize in test preparation, organization, mathematics, and SAT/ACT Mathematics preparation. I am currently a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's program at Nova Southeastern University, and I received my B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish from the University of Miami in 2016. I am a native speaker of English and Russian. Throughout the course of my education, I have helped my fellow students improve their analytical and writing skills through collaboration. I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects, including standardized test preparation, English literature up to the college level, essay and academic writing and grammar, Russian and Spanish language skills. I am very interested in a career in the medical field, so I am apart of some pre-medical organizations. I really enjoy playing all different sports, from soccer to volleyball to tennis.

I'm in my 2nd year of medical school at the University of Central Florida. I previously graduated Cum Laude from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Human Biology and Education Studies. I was an Academic Mentor for underprivileged San Diego communities. I was also a Teaching Assistant for the Biology department at UCSD. I have taught in a variety of settings; from one-on-one tutoring to review sessions for 300 people in a lecture hall. I primarily tutor MCAT, SAT, and the SAT.

I am excellent with kids who are reluctant or don't like school at all. My focus is on finding their strengths and using those to help their weaknesses.

I am a current Game Design Major at the University of Central Florida, with a minor in Creative Writing and certificate in German language. I was very involved in my high school's honor societies and band program, and through these have taught many students, be it in music or academics. I have also worked as a Graphic Designer, both for volunteer work as well as paid gigs, and have proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator. Likewise, I have studied writing since high school and was the Editor-in-Chief for Valencia College's Phoenix Magazine, in which I wrote, edited, and revised work. I have often used the above opportunities to mentor people before, and find it exciting to pass on whatever tips and tricks I've learned along the way, as well as bond with others in a shared subject.

I am listening to and learning about him or her as an individual. I can also discover what motivates the student during this conversation and plan for how to frame future tutoring sessions in terms of what the student already knows and enjoys.

I am extremely passionate about psychology, but I also really enjoy tutoring English. Literary analysis can be fun, I promise! When I am tutoring a student, I try to relate to him or her on a more friendly and personal level; it is important to me that my students understand I am accessible and there to help, not to intimidate them or make them uncomfortable and confused. I feel that this makes it much easier for a student to approach me with questions or a simple I have no idea whats going on in this math problem. When it comes to standardized testing, I firmly believe that test-taking is a skill in and of itself the SAT, for example, tests ones math and verbal abilities, but it also tests your ability to take the SAT, which is a skill that can be taught and practiced. Outside of academics, I enjoy participating in on-campus theater, folding origami, and baking.

I am a law student, but I took an unusual route to get there. I used to attend medical school but had a change of heart in my career path. Part of this was due to my political science major (double major with biology) in college as well as a number of Spanish and other courses that I took. Tutoring is something, I feel, that has come naturally to me, even back to my high school days. My goal is to help you learn as much as you can and reach your true potential. I will work hard to make sure that this happens, as long as you put in the work, too! We will work together to tailor your learning experience to your needs.

I am a graduate of the University of Miami School of Communications and received a B.S. in Communications. I doubled majored in Advertising and English Literature and minored in Fine Arts. While studying at UM, I participated in a Study Abroad program and spent a semester in Prague, Czech Republic. The time I spent abroad sparked a desire to travel and study other cultures. This was my first exposure to tutoring students in English. Since graduation, I have spent time working as a substitute teacher and received my TESOL certification to teach English abroad. While I tutor a range of subjects including elementary and middle school math and test preparation, I am passionate about reading, writing, and editing. I strongly believe that the ability to communicate clearly is one of the most important skills any student can learn. I also believe there are many ways to approach a problem, whether in math or writing or study skills, and look forward to finding creative approaches with my students and building upon past sessions to create a solid foundation for future learning. Outside of education, I enjoy sewing and crafting, art, exercising, and reading.

I am fortunate; I get to do the best job in the world. While teaching is my second career, it was always what I wanted to do. When I graduated from college, I was offered a position with my college's admissions and marketing office, where I had been working to put myself through school. It was a tremendous opportunity, and launched an eighteen-year career helping high school students make important decisions about their futures, and navigate an often complex admissions and financial aid system. I loved working with students, being around bright, engaging people, and doing work that made a difference. But each time I walked through a high school to present a workshop on writing college essays or preparing for college interviews, I was reminded of how deeply I still wanted to be in a classroom. So I took the plunge, and now spend my days teaching social studies to great students at a great school. I have taught world history, American history, sociology, psychology, economics, and even developed a high school course in teaching for students seeking a career in education. I am passionate about understanding how the past has shaped the present, and helping students recognize their critical role in protecting and preserving democracy. In addition to teaching course curricula, I work with students on writing skills, standardized test preparation, and college essays, because all of these skills will help them reach their academic goals. As a teacher, I believe that it is critical to help students develop the ability to regulate their own learning, and implement meta-cognitive strategies that will serve them in college and beyond. When I'm not teaching, I am a mom to a high school sophomore, a long-distance mom to two college students, a gardener who grows lots of organic vegetables, and an avid reader of anything historical. Hello! My name is Siddhi Deshmukh. I graduated from UCF with a degree in biomedical sciences in December 2023. I have a wide range of tutoring experience rating from elementary school to college level subjects. I have worked as a volunteer tutor for high school, middle school, and elementary school students. I also worked as a Mathnasium tutor and Chemistry teaching assistant while in college. I also have tutored for standardized exams like the SAT. I grew up in Canada and my first degree was from Mt. St. Vincent Women's University in Nova Scotia, Canada. I received a B.A. in political science with a double minor in Women's Studies and Psychology. From there, I moved to the United States, where I started teaching and earned my Master's degree in Education, Special Education from Cambridge College. I went on to complete an Ed.S. online with Old Dominion University in Virginia, with the hopes of doing my doctorate. I stopped my doctorate before completing my dissertation during COVID as the school I was attending closed its doors permanently, and I haven't found an alternative. I may go back someday and finish, but for now, I'm happy with things as they are. I love teaching reading the most, because I am such an avid reader and feel that it is a wonderful skill to have. I have worked in other subjects such as Writing and Social Studies, but I am most passionate about teaching reading and helping students to overcome their struggles with that subject. I have been teaching for all of my adult life and started when I was 17 years old as a tutor for older adults who struggled with literacy skills. This ignited my passion for teaching. My love of teaching has stayed with me for my entire life and though it has been tested over time, I have never thought of doing any other job. My philosophy includes believing that all people are deserving of an education that can help enrich their lives and advance their skills. My life involves enjoying music, writing, reading, animals and nature. Those are the things that have helped me cope with things beyond my control, as well as have provided much-needed alternatives during this new post-pandemic world. I did suffer mild disabilities in speech and Math as a student when I was a kid, so I am particularly sensitive to the needs of students with disabilities.

I am a second-year student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. I am double majoring in Cognitive Studies and Psychology with a minor in Computer Science. I have tutored high school and middle school subjects, standardized test prep, and helped students build college applications in Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT. I have tutored in a range of subjects but particularly enjoy helping students gain both the skills and confidence needed to excel at essay writing. I am currently a senior at Northwestern University and I will be receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Legal Studies this spring. I'm a big Boston Celtics fan and I speak three languages. I can get you the test results you need to succeed because I went through the exams myself and performed well. The first time I took the SAT I actually wasn't satisfied with my score, so I spent 2 months working hard to get my score to where I wanted it to be. The second time I took the exam I saw a 200-point increase. Previously, I have had experience teaching the SSAT and the SAT. The student I tutored in SSAT successfully passed the exam is now attending a private high school abroad. I am about to graduate from Brown University with a B.A. in Education Studies. I love working with students one-on-one and helping them feel like they can tackle challenging material. In the past I have tutored elementary school students in English and Math, middle school students in English as a second language, and helped peers in an informal context. My experiences teaching visual art and dance classes have also helped me develop creative and engaging ways to present information. While I tutor many different subjects, I am particularly excited about working with students on writing and French. I have studied French for 11 years and lived abroad in a Francophone country, and I am a total geek when it comes to French grammar. Similarly, I love playing with and examining the English language, whether in preparation for the reading section of a Standardized Test or for a college essay. I believe that students learn best when they are able to uncover the "why," not just the "what," and it is my goal to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. In my free time, I enjoy making pottery, swing dancing, and experimenting in the kitchen.

I am good at test taking, is my ability to organize information. It's a skill I use both in my academic life, as well as professionally; as a stage manager, it is often my job to take in complicated and conflicting pieces of information (the blocking, a quick change in costumes, changes in a script) and quickly organize that information so that I can convey it to someone else. I enjoy and excel at condensing and re-communicating facts or tasks, so that they become comprehensible to someone who may not understand them the first time around.

I am a graduate of Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American History. I recently received my Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began my career as an attorney. I am passionate about continuing my work in education through tutoring. I enjoy tutoring many subjects, particularly History, SAT Reading and Writing, College Essays, and Spanish. I love assisting students in implementing simple but effective changes in their preparation for Standardized Tests that show immediate results. I am currently a senior at Harvard College where I study chemistry, and I'll be attending Columbia Medical School next year. In addition, I am very familiar with all sections of the SAT and ACT having prepared several high school students for these tests.
