Matthew
I am a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Psychology and am currently pursuing a Master's degree at the University of South Florida in Educational Measurement and Research. I have tutored in one form or another intermittently since high school, from private tutoring in Chemistry, Algebra, Statistics, and SAT prep to T.A. responsibilities and instructor training for undergraduate statistics as part of my graduate studies. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to teaching. The benefit of working with one student at a time is that I can help them understand what methods work best for them, and ground complex concepts in examples that apply to his/her own life to put the material in context. The highest compliment I feel I can receive is when someone tells me "I couldn't grasp this while we were going over it in class but now I get it!"In my spare time I enjoy exercise, running and swimming in particular, and taking my miniature Australian Shepherd to the dog park. I look forward to meeting you and working together to reach your academic goals!
