I hold a Bachelors of Science in Biology and have worked as a tutor for over four years and have tutored students ranging from Elementary to College. I have tutored in many areas from Algebra to Reading Comprehension. My degree helps in my tutoring abilities as it allows me to utilize all my skills in the areas of Math, Science and English all at once. I sought to become a tutor during my undergraduate career at The University of Texas at Austin. I received my degree in Nutritional Sciences, and I will be starting dental school this fall! I love biology, and enjoy the aspect of learning and the fulfillment of succeeding in academics.Outside of school, I LOVE cooking and spending time with friends! While at Monmouth I was involved in various tutoring/teaching positions. I served as the supplemental instructor of analytical chemistry, teaching assistant for general chemistry, and cadaver dissection team member. Through the experience of being a student and a tutor, I have learned the unique challenges the science student encounters. As a student athlete in both high school and college, I understand the difficulties of time management and the importance of maintaining success in the classroom. Attending a small college allowed my passion for biology and chemistry to flourish through the close relationships I made with my peers and professors. I bring this hands-on approach I was given in my undergrad to my students by pinpointing their exact needs to ensure material is not just memorized, but understood. Outside of my science pursuits I enjoy reading, hiking, and exploring my city of Chicago.

I have also taught for an online ESL company where I taught students living in China. I have taught all grade levels and subjects over my career. I have also taught in summer programs and after school programs. I am well adept in meeting the needs of children with different learning styles and abilities. I have taught students in the regular classroom and in self-contained classrooms. I have taught students with learning disabilities, ADD and ADHD, multiple handicaps, communication disorders, autism and Down syndrome. Students have had a wide range of abilities and disabilities. Teaching is my passion! I enjoy getting to know the students and their families.
