Latin Tutoring review by Letizia in Bartlett, TN
We went over homework and material the student will have in her test. We went over the use of past participle and present participle, present perfect, past perfect, and how to use a verb as an adjective. We did a translation of a poem and a short story she will have in her exam. The session went well and she was happy.

Latin Tutoring review by Melinda in Bartlett, TN
Today the student and I worked on some of the worksheets that he has accumulated while he was sick. They mainly dealt with sports vocabulary and had grammar topics such as saber/ conocer and the personal a. We managed to get through several worksheets together and I think by the end he had a good grasp on the concepts and should be able to finish the rest himself. Overall the session went well. He made minimal mistakes and was very quick to correct himself. He still has a little bit of difficulty figuring out what full sentences mean but we will continue working on that in later sessions.

The student and I worked on the preterite tense for the first time. We talked about phrases that signal you need to use this tense and about how to cognate it. I gave him some written and oral opportunities for practice. We also talked about some false cognates to avoid. I left him with a listening exercise that he can use next week.

Latin Tutoring review by Ramiro in Bartlett, TN
We spent our session reviewing demonstrative adjectives, affirmative and negative words and going over the student's big presentation over families later this week. She is doing well and she understands the lessons as I explain them to her. She is very quick to make the relationships between words that are necessary to learn the language properly.

Latin Tutoring review by Kathryn in Bartlett, TN
There were five students in class today. We went over the homework, worked on conjugating the verb "ser," and discussed possessive pronouns. I gave them their homework for next week, and then we continued on with a discussion about our children (including children of the furry variety!). Next week, we will review the homework and continue working with dialogues and possessive pronouns.

Latin Tutoring review by Stephen in Bartlett, TN
In this session, we finally got a nice complete translation of the passage we were working on. The student showed a good understanding of what was going on in the passage. A couple of the sentences that were troubling such as "subire deponere iterum subire," we came to an understanding of. I also started pointing out to him irregular uses of the dative. As we go through passages again, I will make sure to emphasize these things.
