I am a graduate of Dartmouth College, where I received a B.A. in Comparative Literature, with a focus on Spanish and Performance Studies. At Dartmouth, I T.A.'d Spanish classes for all 4 years using the Rassias method, an individualized approach that aims to build fluency by focusing on verb structure, syntax, and pronunciation. After graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors, I moved to Boston where I worked at software company HubSpot, honing my tech abilities and using my teaching skills to give bilingual support to customers from around the globe. I primarily tutor in Spanish, but I am also passionate about history, literature, and middle- and early high- school math. In my free time, I enjoy writing plays, reading, cooking, and getting outdoors!

I am a graduate of Drew University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. I minored in French and Black Studies, which are two subjects I love dearly. I was recently accepted into a PhD program to obtain my doctorate in Sociology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign! I will continue my studies there during this upcoming academic year. My previous research, mentorship and tutoring experiences give me confidence that I can help you and thrive in your studies. I have been a mentor in various high school and undergraduate organizations since I was a sophomore. My experience as an academic coach and a tutor in the University Library helped me learn patience and numerous strategies to help students succeed in their studies. I believe tutoring is an expansive experience. Both the tutor and client learn and grow in every session. We increase our knowledge in times of challenge, and I view my role as a tutor is to make room for clients to strengthen their skills. I enjoy helping clients of all ages and have experience in working with all students. One of my favorite things to help clients with is cultivating study and organizational strategies. Having those two things in place help the client maintain their studies.During my time in undergrad, I studied abroad in France, Martinique and Puerto Rico. I volunteered over 100 hours of service each year as a student volunteer on campus and in the surrounding community. I was a part of many leadership organizations, especially those that helped first-year students acclimate to the university. I enjoy helping those rise to their fullest potential and find the best way to do so is through mentorship and tutoring.

I am a recent college graduate with a degree in both Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mathematics. I worked for various departments as a tutor and Teacher's Assistant for mathematics and engineering courses starting in my sophomore year all the way through graduation. It was some of my most exciting times during my years there. For me, working with students is the most rewarding part, and I love seeing the moment a difficult concept clicks. When I tutor I adjust my teaching style to the student, and find various ways to relate the topics to real life. I'll often work with students to make sure they understand the basics or foundations of the concept or problem they are attempting and help them learn to think through and understand a process over pure memorization.

I reclaim the ability of teaching as the dimension of power to cultivate the lives of adult minds, prospective students, and executive professionals. Education as a purpose and a passion has become second nature to me as I have thegreatest opportunity to empower those around me, showing where education can conclude. Being able to serveothers while still advancing my education is one of the best ways to use student minds to help the placement of newdimensions of educational platforms. Utilizing the capability of technology as a basic reference, I have been able toembrace all aspects of education by a preference rather than a negative choice. This has given me the optimisticability to become empowered with education and technology. Implementing these materials into the society ofprofessional learners gives each student the ability to see change within their professional and educational life.Using my ability as a person of color and as a facilitator for education and navigator, it is my intention to enhancethe learning spectrum as a transformative experience in the professional and the educational world. Ideally, when astudent transforms into further education, they are taking on the responsibility of seeking out knowledge. Personally, the student wants to feel changed by the professor's assistance and the course materials. I bring the benefits of beingan accomplished diverse professional in the business and academic fields towards the higher education profession. Ibelieve that based on my management, experience, publications, and graduate credit hours, I could be qualified forthis position in higher education.

Learning is the ultimate adventure. However, we all get mired down along the way.My goal is to help students to overcome hurdles on journey. There are facts that need to be communicated. There are misconceptions to be ironed out. But in the end, the point of every session is inspiration.

Hi, I'm Michael! I'm currently a student at Harvard University studying physics and archaeology. While physics and archaeology seem quite different, on a fundamental level both fields involve solving puzzles. This is why I love tutoring in physics, math, and Latin, all of which are topics embedded with puzzles. I'll begin with physics and math. I have tutored a number of students who believe that they are simply unable to understand the material at a high level. However, I truly believe that with proper instruction every student is capable of understanding physics and math in an intuitive and interesting way. I work to demonstrate this reality in sessions by never giving away the answer to a problem; I instead use leading questions to get the student to understand the problem as a whole instead of just the answer. Regarding Latin, I work to illustrate that questions in a Latin class are puzzles in and of themselves. Translations of ancient sentences are just puzzles to solve. You are given a set of rules, and students must think nimbly to apply those rules to the situation at hand. In the end, a question that seems dull at first becomes an interesting puzzle to figure out. I believe that physics and math provide a language to understand our universe and Latin provides the basis for our own language. I hope to impart on my students how much fun it can be to solve puzzles in those three subjects and to use those solutions to understand the world around us.While I hope I have communicated above my love of physics, math, and Latin and my love for teaching those subjects, it's also important to know my qualifications in those topics. I'm planning on majoring in physics and have so far taken courses in classical mechanics, electrodynamics, and quantum mechanics. Regarding math, while I have studied multivariable calculus and theoretical linear algebra in structured class environments, I have also learned to apply this math through my physics courses. As for Latin, I have taken four years of language classes in high school and have continued my study of the language in college having taken courses in Latin literature and Roman history. Then there's music. I've been playing violin for the past 15 years and the viola for the past 5. I spent three summers at the Indiana University Summer String Academy, culminating in winning first place in their annual string quartet competition during my last summer there. I have played solo and chamber music, and I played in an orchestra for four years, serving as principal second violin, principal viola, and associate concertmaster (not all at the same, though). I even played in a pit orchestra for four years.Outside of the classroom and practice room, I love doing stand-up comedy, I've dabbled in creative writing, and during the summers I work as a sailing instructor at a summer camp.
