Haleema
Certified Tutor
As an English major with a minor in Education from the University of Illinois Chicago, I have over two years of tutoring experience that complements my four years in diverse educational roles. My journey began as a long-term substitute teacher for high school in English and Math, and evolved into a Title I instructor, focusing on foundational skills for students in grades K-8. Currently, I am a private ESL tutor, where I am dedicated to providing individualized instruction tailored to each student's unique needs and interests. My teaching philosophy emphasizes creating a nurturing environment that celebrates achievements while viewing mistakes as opportunities for growth. I employ strategies such as clear, measurable objectives and the "I do, we do, you do" approach to build student autonomy and confidence. I am passionate about inspiring a love for learning that empowers students to thrive academically and personally.
