Austin: Birmingham tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm Austin, a bioengineering major and math minor at Florida Gulf Coast University, and I love helping others learn. Whether it's breaking down tricky science concepts, walking through math problems step-by-step, or helping students prep for the ACT, I'm all about making learning less stressful and more rewarding.
At FGCU, I served as a Chemistry TA where I created video lessons, led over 100 hours of study sessions, and helped cut the course fail rate by 50%. I've also been involved in over 2 years of research concerning organizational leadership, brain cancer treatments (Glioblastoma), and environmental engineering so I know how to take complex material and relate it to the real world.
Beyond the classroom, I've volunteered hundreds of hours with organizations across Florida and Illinois, and I've tutored STEM topics to elementary, middle, and high school students during the summer.
Whether it's tackling algebra, diving into biology, or preparing for the ACT, I'm here to make learning approachable, relatable, and simple. My goal is to meet students where they're at, build their confidence, and show them that learning can be fun! I'm here to support you, cheer you on, and help you reach your goals no matter how big or small.

Undergraduate Degree: Florida Gulf Coast University - Bachelor of Engineering, Biological/Biosystems Engineering
When I’m not studying or working in the lab, I love exploring creative and hands-on hobbies. I’m passionate about art, and analog photography, and enjoy capturing everyday moments on film—there’s something really special about the process and patience it requires. I also enjoy off-roading and getting out into nature whenever I can—it’s a great way to recharge. At home, I like experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes, especially when cooking for friends and family. I also spend time coding small projects in Matlab and designing with SolidWorks or AutoCAD, often just for fun. These hobbies keep me curious, grounded, and always learning something new.
