Mackenzie: Bloomington tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm excited to share my passion for learning and helping others succeed. I have obtained my Associates degree in Paramedic Sciences, two bachelor's degrees in medical biology and chemistry as well as working towards my Medical Doctorate Degree at USD-SSOM. I have a strong background in all sciences, as well as successfully completed standardized tests including CNA, ACT, NREMT-B, NREMT-P, MCAT, and USMLE Step I. I love breaking down complex concepts to make them more approachable.
I currently hold my certification in long-term substitute teaching and have taught over a year of middle school and high school sciences. I also provide GRE tutoring at a local prison, tutor students grades 3rd - 12th in math and sciences, as well as previous experience working with undergraduate students to complete their pre-medicine bachelor's degrees.
I believe that every student has the potential to excel, and my goal as a tutor is to provide personalized support that meets each learner's unique needs. My experience volunteering as a tutor for GED programs, undergraduate studies, high school students, and fellow doctorate colleagues has taught me the value of patience, empathy, and adaptability in teaching.
I'm not just here to help with homework; I want to inspire confidence and a love for learning. I'm looking forward to working together to achieve your academic goals and make learning an enjoyable journey!

I have a diverse range of interests that enrich my life and help me connect with others. In my free time, I enjoy: Sports: As an avid basketball player, track runner, competitive powerlifter, and novice Pickleball play, I appreciate teamwork and discipline, which I believe are essential in both sports and academics. I also enjoy watching college football (Roll Tide) and soccer. Reading: I love exploring various genres, from fantasy to non-fiction, as it expands my perspective and fuels my creativity. Music: I enjoy playing instruments including the flute and guitar and discovering new artists. Music allows me to express myself and unwind. Volunteering: Giving back to my community is important to me. I often volunteer at local nursing homes, mentorship programs, and veteran events, where I can support others and make a positive impact. Science Experiments: I have a passion for hands-on learning and often conduct experiments at home, which deepens my understanding of scientific concepts. These interests not only keep me engaged but also inspire my approach to tutoring, as I believe in making learning fun and relatable!
