I'm passionate about teaching and it's always a great thrill to me when I see the expression change in students' faces when they have that "aha moment," realizing they just understood a concept that had eluded them.

Most of my teaching experience has been at the college level, teaching and tutoring business classes in finance, financial accounting, marketing and economics.

My first job out of college was teaching a GED class at Cook County Jail, with a focus on math and English.

I am a strong believer in making what seems to be dry or boring subjects pop to life, using real-world examples and applications so the student develops an intuitive understanding of the subject matter, rather than just trying to commit formulas, etc. to short term memory.

My undergraduate degree was in Criminal Justice Sciences (which lead me to teaching at Cook County Jail).

I have an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, with a finance concentration.

I'm a level 3 candidate for the CFA examination, having passed the level 1 and 2 exams.

My professional career has been mostly in publishing.

I enjoy spending time and traveling with my wife and daughter.
