Hello! I hope to meet you soon in a tutoring or learning session. I am a retired college professor of communications and history with a wide range of work and teaching experience.
Recently I have focused on preparing students for the Verbal SAT, the Reading and English parts of the ACT, and the AP courses in writing, literature, and U.S. History.
If you need help with grammar, understanding what you are reading, or just "getting a handle" on an assignment, I can help you figure those things out, too. The SAT's questions, for example, on grammar and punctuation are very tricky, but I can also improve your essays, project reports, applications, and other business documents.
I have worked for Varsity Tutor for three years and have tutored children as young as seven and middle-aged graduate students. My tutoring also extends to professionals, such as lawyers, with preparing briefs and writing speeches.

It's actually hard for me to think of what I am NOT interested in because most subjects intrigue me. I like to hike, cook, read, write, sing, and explore topics like archeology, astro-physics, history, movies, and politics. Most of all, I'm interested in being a useful person to those who would like to improve their lives by improving their skills in writing and analysis.
