Sarah
Certified Tutor
I'm currently a master's student studying computer science at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. from Georgetown in science, tech, and international affairs (STIA). Previously, I worked as a data analyst (think SQL, R, and Excel) supporting forensic accountants and prosecutors with fraud investigations.
My goal as a tutor is to draw from my diverse experiences and help students see the value of interdisciplinary education. I am particularly passionate about introducing computer science and data analytics skills to students at an earlier age, as well as to students who come from non-STEM backgrounds.
My teaching approach centers on grasping the intuition behind a concept, rather than repeating rote concepts. I enjoy a back-and-forth conversational style with my students, instead of a one-sided lecture, and am always seeking to adapt my approach to each learners' preference!
