When I was young, I realized that I thought differently about Mathematics than my peers. I read the textbook and instantly understood it. Meanwhile, they struggled for hours. Seeing my childhood friends struggle in this way tugged on my heartstrings the same then as it does to see this struggle in my adult friends today.
Because of this, I have developed a great passion for helping other people understand complex ideas. I have a strong belief that the best thing for a society is the spread of advanced critical thinking skills, so any learning assistance I can offer someone is doubly satisfying to me in that way.
I studied for two years at Georgia Tech working towards a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, before having to withdraw for medical reasons. Through my work as a tutor, I intend to fund my return to collegiate education, although I am now interested in a degree more directly related to Mathematics.
I enjoy tutoring many levels of Math, from basic Algebra all the way to mid-level Calculus. In fact, regardless of the topic at hand, I place a heavy emphasis on the importance of algebraic derivation, and understanding of Algebra in general. As they say, "Calculus is two steps of magic, and 30 steps of Algebra."
