I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

If there is one thing I have learned from my years working in neurobiology labs, it's that brains learn best in engaging, low-stress environments. I take great pride in creating those environments with students, especially during times as chaotic as these.

I firmly believe that there are no boring or inaccessible subjects--only ones that haven't yet been presented in the right context!

When students are inherently interested in the material at hand, I enjoy stoking those flames. When students find an assignment boring or intimidating, I enjoy finding just the right resources to help relate it to fun and familiar concepts.

I've found that it's easy and fun to get a feel for molecular biology fundamentals by looking at models of DNA/RNA/protein--thousands of which are available for free at the Protein Data Bank.

I'm always trying to encourage more people to play with this free and easy-to-use resource for biomolecular art/education. I would love to show you how to use it in your studies (or just for fun)!

The Protein Data Bank offers a wealth of other educational materials, too. (I don't work for them or anything--I just really, really like structural biology art!) http://pdb101.rcsb.org/
