I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Austin

Certified Tutor

I am currently a Sophomore in the Honors program at UNC Chapel Hill, and am pursuing a double major in Physics and Applied Mathematics, and a minor in Chemistry. Ever since starting high school, I have made an effort to always assist my peers when they were struggling by tutoring in individual and group settings outside of school. Most prominent of these involves my creation of the competitive math team at my school in which I led group meetings in going over fun and challenging problems. I strive to teach others in a way that does not simply take advantage of brute force memorization. I would love to share my insights regarding Science and Math in a way that involves directed questions as I encourage the student to understand the material on a conceptual level (though I am always welcome to give more help at any step of the process). By teaching in this way, I believe answering questions related to the content will come naturally, as problem solving will become second nature once a firm grasp of the underlying concepts is gained.
