I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of The University of Georgia where I earned Bachelor of Science in Biochemical Engineering. After graduating in 2017, I traveled extensively in Europe and Southeast Asia. Through traveling I gained passion for sharing experiences, knowledge, and culture. At one point while overseas I volunteered at a Youth's Day Center where my main focus was to inspire kids to pursue higher education in STEM. I spent most of my time speaking about science and technology, its importance and the future. My volunteering experience inspired me to help the community and to pursue a career in teaching.

While at UGA I spent a lot of time in small friend groups doing homework, preparing for exams, and teaching peers in one on one setting. I personally learn best visually, and my teaching style heavily relays on logic. As an engineer I've learned that knowing how to approach a problem calmly, applying what knowledge you have, and checking to see if the answer makes sense truly demonstrates understanding. I believe that the process is always more important than the outcome, and when the process is perfected, the outcome comes naturally. I will help you think outside the box and find a process that makes most sense to you.

I believe I'm most effective when tutoring math and chemistry since I'm the most knowledgeable in these areas. Also, I pride myself for being extremely patient. I like to treat my students as my peers, and I don't give up easily. I believe everyone is capable of being successful in math and science.
