Greetings! I'm Javi, an electrical power engineering major and English minor at the University of Houston. I specialize in tutoring SAT, mathematics up to Calculus, essay writing, and basic Linux literacy.
I utilize a "break-it-down" approach when I assist my friends and colleagues. When I would help my friends with algebra in high school, usually they either missed a key fundamental concept or had a rushed understanding. Much of learning is like building a house, a solid foundation built off of strong fundamentals will not falter during examination.
I found that the best approach was to start with a fundamental, simple example. Then, gradually build up understanding and/or confidence alike (sometimes the issue is not necessarily mastery, but rather doubt) by quizzing them with questions; gradually increasing the difficulty until competency was achieved.
