Certified Tutor

A native of Northern New Jersey, I bring years of experience in education and youth development. I earned my Bachelors in Communications and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014, with a concentration in history and linguistics. While completing my studies, I worked as a tutor for elementary and middle school students in the Greater Pittsburgh area, offering support in reading, mathematics and social studies. During my time in undergrad, I spent a summer term in South Africa as a Vira I. Heinz scholar, participating in a program focused on community building in schools. I later went overseas to teach and coach in Shenzhen, China, where I became a certified TESOL instructor. In 2017, I earned my Masters in International Education with a focus in social justice education and youth development and am currently working in special education. My specialities include reading comprehension, writing and history.

I believe it is the role of an educator to help a student discover what method works best for their unique learning style. Enabling a student with the tools to think critically and develop effective learning strategies, is my main objective when constructing a learning environment.

In my spare time, I enjoy coaching basketball, running and discussing Harry Potter.
