Greetings! I'm a recent college graduate (Reed College, '17) currently residing in Portland.

Qualifications: First and foremost, I have experience tutoring in a wide range of subjects over the past few years, including pre-algebra, SSAT Critical Reading test prep, and introductory French. Moreover, I was a top student at an elite college, qualifying for honors each of my four years in school. I have excellent knowledge of English language literature, as well as strong writing and close-reading analytical skills. Moreover, I have a deep background in test prep (cumulative 31 on the ACT), mathematics up to the high school level (5/5 score on AP Calculus AB/BC, took math up to multivariable calculus), French (took 3 years in college, including one year of literature courses conducted in French), and public speaking (co-captain of Sonoma Academy (Santa Rosa, CA) speech team 2012-13).

Tutoring Strategy: I employ a tutoring approach in which the student is involved in such a way so that me and the student both work to identify strengths and weaknesses together, and discuss learning and study strategies in a collaborative manner. I find this strategy to be effective at not only helping the student learn the material, but to also developing the techniques of critical self-assessment and self-evaluation that are necessary to academic success, regardless of subject or field.
