Certified Tutor

I am a fourth year medical student. I have tutored Latino low-income students through the Cambios Program at my university. I helped them with their homework in Math, Science, English and Spanish. While serving as a tutor, I acted as a mentor to a 7th grade student and gave advice regarding college applications and the importance of embracing one's culture. I also have served as a leader for the Cambios program for my second semester of tutoring. I organized and collaborated with two other leaders in writing the curriculum for activities for tutees. While I contributed by incorporating new public speaking exercises and setting goals, I was able to help them improve their English command and emphasize the importance of a college education. With experiences like these, I feel motivated to tutor students.
